A Call to Action

My first order of business: I must announce the addition of two more blogs. Relatively Journalizing is maintained by journalist, PR man, 8-star general, my fellow colleague and friend Joshua DeLung. Yet another equally-credentialed friend, Gordon M. Curry, is the man behind Black Tie Lounge. They are both incredible writers and actually update their blogs regularly, unlike a certain someone writing this very sentence.
I see a team forming among us communication grad student bloggers–the two mentioned above, this one, and no use for a headline. The four of us constitute the blogging contingent of the Virginia Tech Communication Department, and I think we can, and should, team up to battle the forces of evil. We each have our own unique abilities. Josh is a meticulous copyeditor. Alex has a beard. Gordon can sing. I drink. If we pool our abilities together into one unified group, there is no limit to what we can accomplish. One can not fight evil alone, but with our powers combined, we will be the equivalent of four men. I laugh when I think of the villains who would cower in Fear if they encountered a drunk, bearded, singing grammar-monger. Why not make this a reality?
I propose we join forces. We will need to have a name: The League of Amateur Media Extraordinaires (L.A.M.E.)? How about the Consortium of Really Awesome People (C.R.A.P.)? No matter, we can think of a name later. The important thing is that we must join this fight together. No man is an island, my friends. We can not make progress to a better tomorrow if we do not band together today.
My second order of business:

I’m in as long as I get to wear tights.

I like the idea, and I would go with L.A.M.E. Also, that video was wierd. Very, very wierd.

Dude, I just tried getting Shari to watch that video like yesterday and she told me it was stupid and close my laptop. However, upon further observation all alone, I’m touched by the Rainbow Road montage.
I’m also in on the superhero team, but the acronyms are somewhat bothersome. I think people may mistake us for nerds when we are in fact highly capable masters of the blogosphere ready to do battle with the worst of naysayers and evildoing villains such as Wi-Fiddler, Really Simple Syndicator and Blog Roller.
I propose we call ourselves the Blogoteers, with the following codenames:
“The Beard”
“The Serge”
“The Dreds”
“Joshorious the Magnificent”

Evan,
I’ve read your blog a couple of times now, and I’ve decided that I should no longer begin each day without some words of wisdom from the Serge. Your wordsmithery shall, in the end, contribute more to the raising of my child than all of my own words and deeds combined. Keep up the fine work!
