I’ve returned. I’m leaving.
July 18, 2007
Hey there. It’s been a while. Family vacation was great, despite the sunburn. Spent time with aunts and uncles and cousins and grandparents and parents and brothers. Beach all day, every day, except for that one rainy day. Also hung out with Mary and Molly a couple nights. We went night swimming one night-cold, wet, dark, but fun. Molly went out of her way to give me and Ricky a ride home the next morning, for which I am grateful. Hopefully going to Nags Head again in October, I really like it down there.
So I’ll be visiting New York for the first time this weekend. From what I gather, I’ll be staying in Manhattan itself, me and Raz and Raz’s brother at Raz’s brother’s place. I will bring a camera and I shall post pictures.
I haven’t even thought about what I’d like to do and see there. Maybe I’ll put my camera to use as a soulless paparazzi and harass celebrities for the weekend. Or see a Conan O’Brien taping. Surely a bar crawl is in order one night. A Broadway show? Find a dingy club and see a “next-big-thing” NYC rock band? Listen to subway musicians? Find the Marvel Comics office and pitch a “Harry Potter vs. Dr. Strange, but team up and fight Jesus in the end” story? I don’t know.
However, I do know that Saturday I’ll be sitting in a luxury box at a horse track (my best guess being the Meadowlands, but I don’t know for sure). A family member of Raz’s has the hookup. I can’t wait. I also know that Neko Case will be playing in Central Park (for free!) on Friday night, but I’ll see what the other two want to do.
But really, I haven’t thought of anything I absolutely have to see or do in New York. I’m sure I’ll find a few things.
This entry’s short with brief sentences and unimaginative writing, and I apologize. I haven’t written in a while, and it’s late.
Go to bed.
