Marketplace!

Facebook has implemented a new feature on its site, the marketplace. People can post listings for things they’re selling, or can list things they want to buy. Surely everyone will use this seriously!

I browsed the listings for the Virginia Tech and Virginia Beach/Norfolk networks. I found some valuable items for sale that will undoubtedly help someone in need:

-the rights to punch someone in the face ($100)
-a cat (free)
-a level 70 Warlock on World of Warcraft, who is apparently an officer in the Top Guild on its server-congratulations! ($500)
-I.P.’s kidney ($2.99 for one, or buy one, get the other 50% off!)
-a holographic Pog slammer ($10)
-one A.I.M. buddy list ($40)
-over 100 expired coupons ($2)
-a first-edition, mint condition Charizard card for the Pokemon card game ($35)
-two level 70 night elves and one level 60 paladin, again from World of Warcraft ($200)
-approximately 13 leftover Taco Bell tacos ($6)
-some girl’s virginity (highest or hottest offer)
-”Lord of Evil” Halloween costume ($15)
-one “crappy car.” Likes to “stall and has no a/c” ($650)
-a pack of Orbit bubble gum, sans one piece ($5)
-one 10-year old horse ($15,000)

In addition, I found a ninja looking for work (“assassinations to household chores”), and someone in need of a fiberglass canoe. According to him, this canoe “needs to float.”

I’d think that would be a solid idea.
