Double you, tee, eff.

Finding a place to live this fall. Finding a vacation rental in OBX this summer. Writer’s block. Boredom. Overall Frustration and Bewilderment.
It seems like I’ve seen a lot of “what the fuck” moments lately. They range from big (VT shootings) to small (two very drunk guys come into the store cussing and being a general nuisance to people around them, and they are surprised that I refuse to serve them). A person driving 45 in the fast lane on I-64. Seeing my great uncle pale and dying of cancer. Realizing that I left my check card in the drive-thru ATM; I’m in the middle of the 5-to-7 business day waiting period for a new card. And some others too, which I may write about at a later date.
Not that there hasn’t been any pleasant “what the fuck” moments. A customer gave me, an ABC store cashier, a five dollar tip. Really. I guess the last bottle of Jack he bought from me was extraordinarily good. I wish all my customers gave me tips. I think I’ll set a tip jar at my register next time I work.
I really really really hope I find a place to live in Blacksburg this fall, besides my car. I don’t think my car is insulated enough to ward off the fierce Blacksburg winter. Also, women may not be impressed with a guy who lives in his car, graduate degree or no. Regardless, still excited about returning there and getting on track to become Master Serge.
If any VT grad students are looking for a cool roommate, let me know. I’m clean, I won’t sit in my room all day with the door shut, I pay my bills on time, and I probably won’t burn the apartment/house down (maybe). I’d be ready to move in August first-ish. I just want a decent-sized room. Also, I’ll probably have a Wii by then. I’ll even let you play with it.
C’mon. Play with my Wii.
You know you want to.
